The Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbor project kicked off
On August 19, Mr. Zhao Zhengyong, Chairman of Shaanxi Provincial Committee announced the opening of Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbor on a meeting. It marked the official launch of the concrete project building.
Chairman Zhao remarked in his address the project was the highlight at the end of the Twelfth Five YearPlan and the beginning of the Thirteenth Five Year Plan. He would do everything it took in the whole province to achieve the project.
Vice Minister Du Zhanyuan of the Chinese Ministry of Education expressed the ministry would mobilize all resources into the project building and involve the project up to the national strategies to serve the local and national strategic needs.
Chairman Yue Liang of Xian Yang Municipal Committee, and Wang Jun, Chairman of Xixian New District Work Union and Committee and Vice Director of Xixian New District Management Committee all expressed their commitments into the project.
XJTU President Wang Shuguo confirmed XJTU vowed to create an international and technology-reinforced innovation platform closely associated with the national industries to support the ‘One Belt and One Road’ initiative through innovation growth.
Chairman Zhang Maizeng of XJTU CPC Committee reiterated XJTU’s commitment, confidence and capability to build the project as a means to bolster the innovation growth, ‘One Belt and One Road’ initiatives and local Government’s campaign for better, more harmonious and greener Shaanxi and the national strategy for revival.
The project infrastructures would be built up first, including transportation, ecology and living to connect the harbor with Xi’an and Xianyang cities and set up green surroundings and well-equipped community. The first batch of constructions comprises Nanyang boulevard, Xinxianhu Road, waste water processing plant on Weihe river, wetland park, road project on Fengxi New City at the right bank of Wei River and comprehensive tube network project (in the section of XJTU) etc. The eight constructions cost 146 million yuan.
