XJTU is open for Youth Thousand Talents Program Specialist and Youth Yangtze River Scholar applications
Xi’an Jiaotong University is a comprehensive university under direct jurisdiction of the Chinese Ministry of Education. It’s originally founded in Shanghai as Nanyang College in 1896 and is a reputable institution with over 100 years of tradition of excellence. XJTU is among the first batch of universities supported by the Chinese 211 and 985 projects and is one of the prestigious universities projected to gain global reputation. To this end, XJTU sets out to seek and foster a batch of outstanding youth talents to renew its youth faculty and strengthen disciplinary excellence.
The 2015 applications are open for Youth Thousand Talents Program specialist and Youth Yangtze River Scholar. XJTU sincerely welcome outstanding youth in and out of China to apply. Meanwhile, XJTU will provide favorable working sphere and living facilities as well as preferential policies and generous support to foster disciplinary or academic leaders.
1. Funding Offer
XJTU will provide the successful applicants with the following funds and offer:
1) an annual salary of 250,000-350,000 yuan, apart from the 500,000 yuan subsidy provided by Shaanxi Province and the Chinese government for Youth Thousand Talents Program Specialists and the 100,000 yuan per year premium for Youth Yangtze River Scholars
2) qualification for professor or researcher or PhD advisor, assigned with graduate admission quota.
3) a supporting fund of 1-2 million yuan for natural science disciplines and 500,000 yuan for social science disciplines, in addition to the research start-up fund provided by the Chinese government. For particular requests, supporting fund is negotiable.
4) a housing fund of 350,000 yuan, for renting or purchasing houses on campus.

2. Requirements
(1) Youth Talents Program Specialist
1) in natural science or engineering fields
2) hold a PhD degree with over 3 years of overseas research or working experiences; hold full-time teaching or research positions in overseas prestigious universities, research institutions or R&D departments of reputable enterprises.
3) below 40 years old. For outstanding applicants, requirements on age or length of overseas employment etc are negotiable.
4) be able to conduct full-time work at XJTU if qualified. Applicants who have returned to China should work for no more than 1 year. The deadline is counted by June 1, 2015.
(2) Youth Yangtze River Scholar
1) hold a PhD degree in the forefront of teaching and research; the domestic applicants should hold associate professorship or above.
2) less than 38 years old for applicants in natural science and engineering fields; below 45 years old for social science applicants
3) within the contract term, the qualified applicant should work full time at XJTU

Eligible applicants for the Youth Thousand Talents Program specialist as well as for the Youth Yangtze River Scholar are advised to email C.Vs, which contain the personal information, contact information, educational and working experiences, and a list of publications, projects, patents and awards etc before June 26, 2015 and July 10, 2015 respectively. After reaching agreement with corresponding schools or XJTU, applicants will be advised for follow-up procedures.
