Professor Alexandra Navrotsky from University of California, Davis was conferred XJTU Honorary Professorship
On June 8, Professor Alexandra Navrotsky from University of California, Davis, who is also members of the American National Academy of Sciences and the American Philosophical Society, were awarded XJTU honorary professorship. Vice President Rong Mingzhe delivered the certificate on behalf of XJTU.
Professor Alexandra Navrotsky earned her bachelor, master and PhD degrees from University of Chicago. She taught at Department of Chemistry, Arizona State University and Department of Geology and Geophysics at Princeton respectively. In 1993, she was selected the member of the American National Academy of Sciences. In 2001, she was appointed Edward Roessler Chair in Mathematical and Physical Sciences; in 2011 she became a member of the American Philosophical Society. She has authored over 800 papers in Nature, Science, Natural Materials, PNAS, and Angewandte Chemie etc.
After the ceremony, professor Alexandra Navrotsky delivered a lecture entitled Energetics at the Nanoscale: Implications for Materials Science and the Environment.
