The State of Nebraska Commended the Dean of the Confucius Institute-----Joint Running School by Lincoln University and XJTU
At noon on February 2nd, the naming and awarding ceremony of Huang Ping-an's day was held in the largest local Chinese restaurant in Lincoln City, Nebraska, honoring great contributions made by Mr.Huang Ping-an, the Dean of the Confucius InstituteJoint Running School by XJTU and Lincoln University, to promote cooperation and exchange between Lincoln City and China in the past four years.
Mr. John Gale, Secretary of Nebraska state, held the ceremony. In his speech, Mr. Gale spoke highly of sacrifices and contributions made by Mr.Huang to spread Chinese culture for Nebraska in the past four years, and praised him as an outstanding representative of Chinese culture, excellent Chinese dean, good working partner and trusted friend. He also expressed deep gratitude to XJTU on the selection of Dean of the Confucius Institute. Mr. Gale read out the notice of naming February 2, 2015 as Huang Ping-an's Day in Nebraska, which was signed by the Governor of the State and Mr. Gale. In addition, Mr. Gale awarded certificates of Honorary Citizen of the state of Nebraska and Elite Leader to him.
In 2010, Nebraska established XJTU's Day. Since then, the two schools have been holding a series of activities like XJTU Culture Week every year in Lincoln University to present Chinese culture. In 2012, they established an America Exchange Center.
