Delegation Led by Thammasat University President Professor Somkit Lertpaithoon Visits XJTU and Signs Cooperation Memorandum
On the morning of October 29, a delegation led by the president of Thammasat University of Thailand and its vice president, Pornchai Tarkulwaranont, visited XJTU and the two universities signed a cooperation memorandum. President Wang Shuguo and Vice president Xi Guang met with the visiting guests in room 107 of the Science Hall. The heads of a number of schools and departments attended the meeting.
President Wang gave the visitors a brief introduction to XJTU, emphasizing its international cooperation and exchange programs and its development vision. He pointed out that XJTU is a member of the C9 universities and receives support directly from the central government. Thammasat University is a university with high reputation in Thailand. He added that he hoped that the two universities could strengthen their relationship and conduct more substantial cooperation in research and teaching and promote the development of education in Thailand as well as in China. President Somkit Lertpaithoon spoke about the cooperation between Thammasat University and various Chinese universities and said he hoped that the two universities would take the signing of cooperation memorandum as an impetus to undertake further cooperation and exchange, including teacher and student exchanges, and joint research.
Following the discussion, President Wang and Somkit Lertpaithoon jointly signed the cooperation memorandum between XJTU and Thammasat University of Thailand.
