The East Asia Welding Technology Forum and the Work Conference of Asian Welding Union was held in XJTU
From October 21 to 25, hosted by China Welding Society, Japan Welding Society and Korea Welding Society and undertaken by Beijing Industrial University and XJTU, the 4th East Asia Welding Technology Forum and the Work Conference of Asian Welding Union was held in Nanyang Hotel of XJTU. Nearly 120 experts and scholars from 10 countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Mongolia attended the conference.
East Asia Welding Technology Forum was jointly initiated and organized by China Welding Society, Japan Welding Society and Korea Welding Society and is held once a year. Since 2011, it has been held three times: in Shanghai of China, Nara of Japan and Busan of Korea.
The guests who attended the conference were: the vice Chairman of the International Welding Society professor Hirata, the vice chairman of Korea Welding Society professor Yoon, the chairman of Japan Welding Society professor Kokawa, the vice chairman of China welding Society professor Tian Zhiling, vice chairman and secretary general researcher Wang Linshu, vice secretary general Li Xiaoyan, the party secretary of the School of Material Science of XJTU Pan Xide and the president of the Welding Research Institute Li Changjiu. The representatives in attendance were from Japanese Osaka University, Nagoya University, Hiroshima University, Korean Dong-Eui University, Hanyang University, Seoul University, Pusan National University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Beijing Industrial University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing Research Institute of Aviation Materials, Shandong University and Tianjin University.
Professor Li Chanhjiu and professor Zhang Jianxun from the School of Material Science, professor Shinozaki from Hiroshima University and professor Rhee from Hanyang University delivered keynote reports at the conference. Professor Li Changjiu's report entitled "the Research Progress of Hot Spraying on Realizing Designing the Organization Structure of Coating according to Service Requirements Based on Particle Connection Control" and professor Zhanh Jianxun's report entitled "Study on the Uneven Gradient of Organization and Performance in Welding Connection" were paid great attention to by the participants. At the conference, the academic atmosphere was strong and the discussion was heated and sharp.
On parallel sessions, papers were exchanges in 4 units. The themes were: the application of welding technology in micro-fields, the welding and making under different service conditions, weldability and the performance of welded joint and advanced electric arc welding. 39 papers were exchanged in 4 units.16, 13 and 10 papers were submitted by Chinese representatives, Japanese representative and Korean representatives respectively.
Asian Welding Union was founded in 2006. It is an international nonprofit organization. Its aim is to promote the progress of welding technology in Asian countries through information sharing and technological support in science and technology information and push the development of science and technology and economy in Asia. The organization consists of the welding societies, associations and research institutes in Asia. Now, there are 12 member countries, including China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Mongolia, Vietnam, Iran, Philippines and Thailand. The meeting of the board of directors and committee meeting of Asian Welding Union were held to discuss standards and procedures of welders' accreditation and Asian welding standardization.
After the meeting, the Chinese and foreign representatives visited the Heat Spraying Laboratory of the School of Material Science.
