XJTU performed well in the National Intelligence City Technology and Originality Design Contest for Graduate Students
In the latter half of August, "the 2014 National Intelligence City Technology and Originality Design Contest for Graduate Students" was held in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Ten teams of XJTU took part in the contest of 12 items and got 1 special prize, 5 first prizes, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 2 excellent prizes. XJTU ranked the second in the total score. Five advisers including Gong Yihong earned the Excellent adviser prize.
"The National Intelligence City Technology and Originality Design Contest for Graduate Students" was jointly hosted the Academic Degree and Graduate Student Education Development Center under the Ministry of Education, the Youngster Science and Technology Center of China Science and Technology Association, the Graduate Education Steering Committee of United National Engineering Degree, the Chinese Intelligence City Industry Technology Innovation Strategy Union and AVS Industrial Technology Innovation Strategy Union. The contest is one of the innovation practice contests for Chinese graduate students. The first contest in 2014 attracted over 1200 graduate students from 71 universities (research institutes). After the preliminary evaluation on the Internet, 98 teams from 41 universities (research institutes) and over 300 participating faculty and students gathered in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the final. The participating team of XJTU got 1special prize, 1 first prize, 1third prize and 2 excellent prizes in originality session. For the 6 propositions in the video challenge session, XJTU got 4 first prizes and 1 second prize. The graduate student Cheng De's team from the Artificial Intelligence and Robot Research Institute of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering earned 3 first prizes and 1 special prize( honorary prize).Five advisers including Gong Yihong, Qu Hua, Jiang Huaizu, Wang Jijun and Zhao Yinliang received the Excellent Advising prize.
The "Intelligence City Design Contest" aims to employ the development needs of Intelligence City by building the relevant industrial alliance, and focusing on technological innovation and originality. It also sets out to stimulate the innovation potential of graduate students, activate their imagination and creativity, promote the cultivation of top innovation and application-oriented talents in relevant fields, boost the dissemination and popularization of "Intelligence City" in the society and provide intellectual support for the project.
