Professors from University of New South Wales lecture on mathematics
At the invitation of the XJTU School of Mathematics and Statistics, Professor Warrick Lawson, Professor of Physics and Head of the School of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences of Australia's University of New South Wales (UNSW) and his party visited the School of Mathematics and Statistics and presented two lectures on March 9.
Associate Professor Harvinder (Harvi) Sidhu, Discipline Coordinator of Mathematics and Statistics for the School of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences, lectured on the topic: "Applied and Industrial Mathematics Research in PEMS." In his presentation, Professor Sidhu discussed the latest research results achieved by the School of Mathematics of UNSW in the relevant theoretical research and actual application of mathematics recently. The students asked Professor Sidhu about the questions in which they were interested such as the mathematic questions involved in the report, how to study and pursue advanced studies abroad and take part in research training activities. Professor Sidhu said that he deeply appreciated the energy and warmth of students. Professor Joseph Lai from the Department of International Exchange Affairs of UNSW introduced the graduate students enrollment of the school to the students of the mathematic experiment class.
