Professor Dong-Guk Shin lectures at XJTU School of Medicine
On December 19, Professor Dong-Guk Shin of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the University of Connecticut, and the founder and director of the Biological Information and Calculation Technology Research Institute of American Connecticut State University visited the School of Medicine and delivered a report.
Professor Shin's lecture introduced the role of computer science in biology, for example, the relevant analysis of heredity mark diseases and the study on genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics, the important roles of many research results of computer integration in systematic biology, genome medicine and individual medical treatment, as well as the application in forensic medicine DNA and the effects of electronic case history and electronic medical treatment on future medicine.
Following the lecture, Prof. Shin entered into a lively discussion with the professors from varied disciplines who attended his lecture.
