Microsoft Vice-President Scott Charney visits XJTU
On October 9, a delegation from Microsoft Corporation led by Scott Charney, Corporate Vice President of Trustworthy Computing at Microsoft, and honorary at XJTU, visited the campus. XJTU Vice President Jiang Zhuangde met with the visiting guests in room 107 of the Science Hall. Vice President Jiang Zhuangde expressed the hope that XJTU might further expand long-term planning and strategic cooperation with Microsoft in program research and in the joint training of graduate students. Vice President Charney noted that XJTU had very important role in the field of network security legislation and that the cooperative research work of the two institutions was of great significance.
After the meeting, Mr. Charney delivered a lecture entitled "The Past, Present and Future of Information Security Law," in which he described the goals of American information security legislation, summarized current problems and issues in the field, looked ahead to expected developments in the area of information security law and shared some of personal insights on the notions of technological neutrality and risk prevention.
